Michael McStay is regarded as one of the finest and most popular actors of his generation, due to his performances in iconic TV shows such as Doctor Who, Coronation Street, The Persuaders!, No Hiding Place and many more.

He was last seen scurrying off to the bank to deposit three pounds fifty pence, which were the profits from his first book. A long life has taught him some wisdom. He now understands that the generation that blamed his for its own seeming powerlessness in a violent world, in his case at least, was wrong. He didn’t start world wars one or two, or cause the stock market crash. None of it was his fault. All he has failed to grasp is the fact that you don’t get rich writing books.

Martin Niemoller wrote in retrospect; a very safe place from which to write. His message was basically that to do nothing is to risk opening your door to evil. Between these attitudes there is an army of young people who scorn them both, and are themselves doing nothing.

This current book humorously recalls more of the unlikely stories that led to unlikely outcomes in that unlikely decade, the Sixties. The occasional ramble from an ill-informed mind might persuade a new leader to try a new direction rather than follow the current navel-gazers on their dance down the yellow brick road to disillusion.
