'A CELEBRATION OF ITC'
'RANDALL AND HOPKIRK AT FIFTY '
A special event. The Studio Suite, Elstree Studios, Borehamwood. Saturday 19th October 2019 at 6.30pm (doors open 5.30pm).
ITC Entertainment was a powerhouse of filmed television drama from the 1950s to the 1980s, producing a succession of hit action-adventure series such as The Saint, Danger Man, The Prisoner, Department S, Man in a Suitcase, The Champions, Return of the Saint and The Persuaders!.
The iconic Elstree Studios, where many of these shows were made, will play host to this very special event to celebrate the fantastic programmes we all remember and love.
The event will include a special celebration of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year!
Special guests, including those who starred in and worked on the shows, as well as those who have been inspired by them, will take part in exclusive and interactive Q&A sessions. In addition, there will be opportunities to meet all the guests, get your personal items signed*, and purchase items. There will also be screenings and other attractions and happenings, to celebrate how ITC entertained the world.
Guest details will appear below, upon announcement. Any profits from the event will be donated to Ty Gobaith Children's Hospice. Tickets only, there will be no 'pay at the door' facility.
**Please note that all guests appear subject to work and other commitments, and will take part in on-stage Q&A sessions. QML cannot guarantee the number and standing of the guests attending.**
**All guests will be charging fees to sign autographs, items, and photos.**
Annette is one of the most familiar of ITC's faces. Starring in series such as The Baron, Gideon's Way, 5 episodes of The Saint, and The Prisoner, she shot to even greater fame as Jeannie Hopkirk in the much-loved Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) and also later appeared in ITC's The Persuaders! and Return of The Saint, as well as countless other films, plays, and shows. We are delighted that Annette Andre will be joining us for this event, to celebrate 50 years of Randall and Hopkirk, and will take part in an on-stage Q&A about her career. Annette will also be signing copies of her memoirs; "Where Have I Been All My Life?" at the event.
As well as Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), 2019 also marks the 50th anniversary of the well-regarded ITC series Strange Report so we are delighted that Anneke, one of the three stars of the series, will be attending the event and taking part in signing sessions and a Q&A session. As well as Strange Report, the series The Saint and The Sentimental Agent also saw ITC-related appearances from Anneke, who was a very experienced actress before taking the role of Polly, assistant to both William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton in Doctor Who, with her much-loved Strange Report appearances shortly following.
*rare signing appearance*
QML and TUW are thrilled to announce that screen star Jennie Linden will be attending, and will take part in an on-stage Q&A about her career and be available to sign items at what is a very rare public signing appearance. Jennie will be no stranger to fans of ITC series, with appearances in shows such as The Saint (twice), The Persuaders, The Adventurer, and The Champions. One of the UK's most popular actresses of the 60s and 70s, Jennie also memorably played the part of Barbara in the film Doctor Who and The Daleks and would later star in series such as Lillie, The Practice, and Chancer, among many more.
Caron Gardner is one of Britain's best-loved ITC actresses, with a long string of credits to her name, including Danger Man, Department S, Gideon's Way (twice), and four episodes of The Saint. Caron also appeared in classic series such as The Avengers, comedy series including Monty Python, George and Mildred, and countless other series. We are delighted that Caron will take part in an on-stage Q&A regarding her incredible life and career and take part in signing sessions.
We are very excited to announce that popular actress Valerie Leon will be attending the event , and will take part in an on-stage Q&A about her career and be available to sign photographs and items and chat to fans. Valerie's ITC credits include Space: 1999, The Persuaders, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), The Baron, and The Saint. She is of course also familiar to fans of the Bond franchaise (appearing in two movies), the Carry On series, The Avengers, and countless other film and TV appearances.
Derek Fowlds is one of the most familiar faces, and best-loved actors, on British TV. Derek will take part in an on-stage Q&A about his career, spanning over six decades, at the event. From his early TV appearances, including fond memories of working on Gideon's Way for ITC, to his well-remembered series such as Yes Minister, The Basil Brush Show, and Heartbeat. Derek will also be on hand to sogn photograps and copies of his highly-recommended memoirs.
Another familiar face to fans of British TV, we are excited to announce that actress, host, and TV personality Aimi MacDonald is the latest special guest announced for the event, and she will take part in signing sessions, and an on-stage Q&A. Her ITC credits include the classic The Saint two-parter Vendetta for the Saint and Shirley's World, as well as other cult series including The Avengers and Rentaghost . She will also be forever remembered for her co-hosting of At Last the 1948 Show and a long list of panel and comedy programmes throughout the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
Another very familiar face on film and TV screens, including the world of ITC, is Carol Cleveland. With the classic comedy series Monty Python's Flying Circus being restored for HD release this autumn, it is particularly apt that we welcome Carol to the event this year. Carol has no less than six ITC credits to her name; The Saint (twice), The Sentimental Agent, Manin a Suitcase, The Persuaders!, and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). Still very much acting, Carol's list of other credits, including many cult classics, is almost endless. Carol will take part in an on-stage Q&A about her career and take part in signing sessions.
We are pleased to announce that voice of Alan Tracy from Thunderbirds himself, Canadian-born actor Matt Zimmerman, is now confirmed for the event. An actor of much esteem and experience, including that unforgettable voiceover for Gerry Anderson (who also asked him to be a part of the subsequent ITC series UFO), Matt also worked on subsequent TV series including Thunderbirds are GO, and Lexx. Matt will take part in a special 'Gerry Anderson' Q&A on stage, and also take part in signing sessions.
QML and TUW are excited to announce that the wonderful Larain Humphrys is attending the event, as our guest. Laraine appeared in no less than three episodes of Gerry Anderson's Space: 1999 for ITC, as well as an episode of The Adventurer. A star of countless films and TV series, she starred in major roles in no less than two Carry On films, namely Carry on Dick and Carry on Girls. Laraine will tape part in a dedicated Gerry Anderson on-stage Q&A at the event, as well as take part in signing sessions.
Many of ITC's most successful series were created by the genius that was Gerry Anderson (Thunderbirds, UFO, Space: 1999, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons to name but a few), and we are very pleased that his son Jamie will be a special guest at the event, and take part in an on-stage Q&A session. Jamie is now the custodian of Gerry's legacy and has created several re-imaginings of his father's series, as well as the new Firestorm series.
